Instrument Technician

Must have experience!

PURPOSE OF JOB:

To transport, decontaminate, assemble, inspect, package, process and sterilize all surgical instrumentation, scopes, procedure trays, patient care equipment and supplies and to appropriately monitor the effectiveness of all sterilization processes according to the Policies and Procedure and following the guidelines by AAMI, AORN, CDC and OSHSA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.Demonstrates knowledge and technical skills in decontamination and processing of Instruments, scopes, equipment and supplies.

2. Demonstrates knowledge of surgical instruments and technical expertise in identification of, care and handling of and inspection for proper working order.

3. Demonstrates knowledge and technical skills in operating sterilization equipment.

4. Demonstrates knowledge of Standard Precautions.

5. Demonstrates positive team relationship and communication skills and contributes to create a Cohesive and productive environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School or G.E.D.

Must pass an accredited program through National Commission for Certifying Agency, which is administered by one of the following agencies and must maintain or obtain (within 18 months of hire):

Certified Endoscope Reprocessor –IAHCSMM

OR

Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor – CBSPD

Experience: Experience preferred but will train

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
