Job Description:
PURPOSE OF JOB:
To transport, decontaminate, assemble, inspect, package, process and sterilize all surgical instrumentation, scopes, procedure trays, patient care equipment and supplies and to appropriately monitor the effectiveness of all sterilization processes according to the Policies and Procedure and following the guidelines by AAMI, AORN, CDC and OSHSA.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Demonstrates knowledge and technical skills in decontamination and processing of Instruments, scopes, equipment and supplies.
- Demonstrates knowledge of surgical instruments and technical expertise in identification of, care and handling of and inspection for proper working order.
- Demonstrates knowledge and technical skills in operating sterilization equipment.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Standard Precautions.
- Demonstrates positive team relationship and communication skills and contributes to create a Cohesive and productive environment.
Job Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High School or G.E.D.
If hired or transferred into position after 12/28/20, must pass an accredited program through National Commission for Certifying Agency, which is administered by one of the following agencies and must maintain or obtain (within 18 months of hire):
Certified Endoscope Reprocessor - HSPA (IAHCSMM)
OR
Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor - CBSPD
- Experience: Experience preferred but will train
- Other Skills: Good Communication Skills
Good customer relation skills
