Job Title: Instrument Person - Surveying (Hybrid/Remote) Location: Hicksville, New York Salary: Up to $40 per hour Company Overview: Hirani Engineering and land surveying is a prominent engineering and construction firm based in Hicksville, New York. This position offers a hybrid/remote work arrangement, providing you with flexibility in managing your responsibilities.

Position Summary: As an Instrument Person for Surveying, you will play a crucial role in supporting surveying activities for our engineering and construction projects. Your responsibilities will include collecting accurate survey data and assisting the Party Chief in various surveying tasks. Key Responsibilities: Data Collection: Operate and maintain surveying instruments, including total stations, levels, and GPS equipment.

Collect accurate field data using specialized surveying equipment and technology. Assist Party Chief: Collaborate closely with the Party Chief in executing surveying tasks and activities. Support in setting up survey control points, benchmarks, and other necessary equipment.

Surveying Support: Assist in conducting topographic, boundary, and construction surveys. Perform calculations and data reduction to ensure accuracy in collected data. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to verify the accuracy and reliability of survey data.

Report any equipment malfunctions or inaccuracies promptly. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing surveying tasks. Participate in safety meetings and training sessions as required.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of surveying activities, including field notes and data files. Assist in preparing survey reports and drawings under the guidance of the Party Chief. Technology Integration: Stay updated on the latest surveying technologies and assist in their integration into projects.Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in surveying or related field is a plus.

Previous experience as an Instrument Person or similar role in land surveying is preferred. Proficiency in using surveying instruments, total stations, levels, and GPS equipment. Basic knowledge of surveying principles, practices, and techniques.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and record-keeping. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in surveying or related field is a plus.
