The main area of focus will be on the continued building, oversight, and integration of social work services in our ambulatory practices. RESPONSIBILITIES: Main interface to community partners on issues such as infant mental health, developmental disabilities, and ?special populations?
such as foster care. Assess opportunities for Medicaid reimbursement for social work and psychotherapy services. Provides support and availability to all specialties as needed, but will devote majority of time to those where a behavioral health component is integrated in their services.
Oversee the planning, implementation, execution and evaluation of special projects for the Department Chair. Dedicated effort to providing targeted social work services for pediatric patients in our ambulatory sites by supervising MSW students and spearheading our SW program in Pediatrics. May provide direct services intermittently as required by the education component.
Expectation to spend some limited time in ambulatory clinics in order to get oriented to the SW structure, observe, make and implement changes to workflows as needed. 20% time anticipated for this category. Interfaces with the USF School of Social Work on continued and new collaborations and initiatives.
Teaching effort captured under clinical duties category. Other duties as assigned. Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university.
Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM: Master's degree in Social Work or closely related field from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Florida. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.
Each position assigned to this classification must require specific training at the Bachelor's degree or Master's degree level in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or other field appropriate to the program content. Bachelor's degree candidates must have at least two years of applicable experience. The Master's degree may substitute for the required experience.
Specific certifications or licensures may be required or preferred for certain program areas. PREFERRED: Five or more years working as a licensed Clinical Social Worker. Previous experiencing directing social work and other behavioral health services in a clinical setting highly preferred.
