GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
This position coordinates the activities, assignments, scheduling, and training of students for the
Certified Health Environmental Services Technician, Mental Health First Aid and CPR/First Aid
certification and credentialed training programs at The Academy at Goodwill licensed by the
Arkansas State Board of Private and Career Education.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for the educational instruction of students enrolled in The Academy at Goodwill,
including but not limited to persons with disabilities and other special needs, that desire an opportunity
to attain skills useful and necessary to getting a job, building a career, and retaining long-term
employment. Teach courses at a variety of times and locations, including evening and weekends.
Travel will be necessary 50-75% of the time. Group instruction will take place both virtually and inperson. This duty is performed daily, about 40% of the time.
2. This position will instruct and train clients in a range of soft skills and career best practices,
including but not limited to: Conflict Resolution, Customer Service, Decision-Making, Dependability,
Ethics in the Workplace, Motivation, Organizational Skills, Self-Advocacy, Social Interactions,
Stress/Anger Management, Team Building, Time Management, and Self-Determination; Career
Development, Career Advancement, Community Resources, Job Retention, and Professionalism.
This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
3. Create and maintain rosters for each program. This position requires regular, documented
communication with clients in each program. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
4. Maintain orderly and current student files that adhere to regulations required by the Arkansas
State Board of Private and Career Education. Maintain accurate documentation of program
operations and services including, but not limited to, documentation required for student files, internal
support systems, compliance, awarded grants, and electronic records. This duty is performed daily,
about 10% of the time.
5. Maintain accurate data and case notes in Goodwill Industries of Arkansas’ data management
system and work directly with the Operations Manager to ensure all data is reflective of the services
being provided. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
6. Assist the Operations Manager in developing classroom instruction, assessing skills attainment,
and recommendations for placement of successful completers entering the workforce. This duty is
performed daily, about 5% of the time.
7. Maintain and properly store/secure equipment, supplies, tools associated with duties and transport
equipment, supplies, and tools to assigned duties. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
8. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability
required.
Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus 2-3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. 2-3 years classroom teaching experience; teaching in virtual settings is a plus. 2. Experience teaching in a high need community, i.e.: homeless, persons with disabilities, underemployed, unemployed, previously incarcerated, etc. 3. Experience working with and teaching adult learners in a post-secondary environment.
