This position is effective for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years.Primary Purpose:
The purpose of an Instructional Coach is to improve teaching and learning by transforming the culture in which:
  • Teaching is transparent and it is the focus among professionals
  • Planning for instruction is thorough, collaborative, and has great depth and understanding of pedagogy
  • Conversations about improving instruction are constant, based on data, and are supportive through modeling

Instructional Coaches will support lesson internalization, instructional best practices, understanding of content, support high quality instructional materials training, data analysis, and overall improvement in teaching and learning based on TEKS.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree
Master's Degree preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of curriculum, instruction and assessment
Ability to organize, coordinate, and facilitate instruction
Ability to interpret data
Ability to provide ongoing, targeted professional development
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Three years' experience as a classroom teacher
Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
  • job embedded coaching, internalization of lessons, leading PLC's, survey completion for TCLAS/TEA; data collection and training
