Instructional Coordinator - Secondary Math @ Instruction Department (Internal employees must use the internal link to login & apply.)https://aisd.tedk12.com/hire/internalLogin.aspx Primary Purpose:To promote quality instruction and provide leadership in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum. Support classroom teaching to ensure an aligned and articulated instructional program in the subject area assigned.Qualifications:Education/Certification:Master's degree from accredited university with a major in assigned subjectValid Texas Supervisor, Mid-Management or Standard Principal certificate preferred Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Creative and strategic thinker with knowledge of curriculum design and implementationAbility to interpret data and evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectivenessAbility to implement policy and procedures and communicate effectivelyStrong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skillsExperience:Five (5) years' of successful experience as a teacher or supervisor in subject area assignedVaried grade level experience preferredInstructional leadership experience as a specialist or similar position preferredGifted/Talented (GT) Certification required for Advanced Academic ServicesBilingual/ESL Certification required for Multi-Language ProgramMajor Responsibilities and Duties for all Coordinators:Instructional Program ManagementProvide effective leadership in developing, implementing, and evaluating district wide programs and curriculum,Lead, promote, develop and coordinate district-wide staff development.Analyze and interpret data points for formative and summative assessments, set SMART goals, and share with appropriate stakeholders.Facilitate the use of best practice protocols for lesson planning, delivery and PLCs.Evaluate programs, identify strengths & weaknesses and create success plans to assist teachers and administrators.Gather and disseminate information about current trends, research, and resources to both teachers and administrators.Facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum guides and documents in accordance with district and state policies.Plan and coordinate exhibits and competitions at district, state and national levels.Review, evaluate, recommend and/or purchase materials, furniture, technology, equipment and supplies for use in specific programs.Review and evaluate content/program curriculum for the purpose of program recommendations at all levels and for assisting in secondary course proposals/deletions.Coordinate the adoption of textbooks for specific content/program areas.Work with stakeholders to facilitate the development of college readiness and technology standards throughout the curriculum.Coordinate specialist meetings and PLC's to increase specialist capacity, classroom integration of 21st Century technology and instructional resources through responsible use best practices.Review and update handbooks and forms as needed. Policy, Reports, and LawAssist with the preparation of district, state, and federal reports that relate to PK-12 programs and/or curriculum.Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in curriculum and instruction area.Prepare long range plans, reports, and materials to provide the administration and the board of education with summary information relative to your program.Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.

CommunicationEstablish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with principals, teachers, staff, parents, and community members.Use effective public relations skills necessary for the successful implementation of new programs, the coordination of programs, and to maintain productive relationships among colleagues.OtherFollow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.Perform other duties as assigned. Other Major Responsibilities and Duties for Specific Coordinators: Coordinator of Digital LearningVet digital resources to ensure they are aligned to standards and district goals.Support Responsible Use Best Practices integration with classroom projects and ensure AISD digital instructional resources and programs align with standards.Coordinate the utilization of AISD TXVSN Distance Learning programs as liaison with state, district and campus administrators, site coordinators and lab facilitators.Provide development and support of opportunities for Digital Fluency, Responsible Use Practices, and blended learning environments in the district.Coordinate with counseling staff to ensure accurate transcription and PEIMS course identification within the Distance Learning program. Coordinator of WellnessEnsure compliance for the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act with Smart Snacks in SchoolOversee K-8 required Coordinated School Health.Work with Risk Management Director to develop, coordinate, manage and maintain wellness programs to reduce health risk, medical costs, and to encourage healthy lifestyles.Oversee recess coaches and ensure that campuses have daily recess for all.Provide goals and objectives to help campuses include the whole child approach by including wellness in campus plans.Conduct and coordinate all employee wellness programs, including on site screenings, flu shots, mammograms, fitness classes, YMCA memberships, walking challenges, and engagement in wellness programs.

Coordinator of Advanced Academic ServicesCoordinate testing for advanced academics (GT Screening, SAT, ACT, AP) as well as training the leadership team in the administration of GT testing instruments.Monitor and track required documentation and compliance with state guidelines for gifted and talented education. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise, evaluate, and recommend the hiring and termination of support staff assigned Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Professional Supervisor Personnel.
