Job description

Overview of Position: The Instructional Coach Coordinator, having both content and instructional expertise works as a colleague with administrators and teachers to support student learning and teacher practice. This position focuses on individual and group professional learning that expands and re?nes the understanding about research and data based e?ective instruction for teachers, diving into content speci?c strategies.
Reports To: Chief Academic Officer
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Develops trusting, positive relationships with teachers, peers, administrators and other stakeholders within the coaching program;
  1. Designs and implements well organized individual and group learning opportunities for teachers and school leaders;
  2. Models efective and diferentiated instruction for teachers;
  3. Coordinates and maintains all district assessment in the assigned subject areas;
  4. Assists teachers in aligning their instruction with strong teaching methods, standards, and student data;
  5. Observes teachers and provides meaningful feedback and coaching through refective measures;
  6. Increases teacher effectiveness by improving the quality of teaching and learning through ongoing support to teachers;
  7. Equips staff with resources and skills needed to implement effective instructional practices;
  8. Assists teachers and school leaders with implementing instructional decisions based on student data;
  9. Participates and implements ongoing professional development opportunities and content strategies;
  10. Maintains a growth mindset with willingness to grow and learn, refecting on practices and collaborating with colleagues;
  11. Effective use of time-management with caseload of assigned teachers with respect to teacher voice and reciprocity;
  12. Provides support to teachers and administrators in analyzing student data;
  13. Supports the development of high-quality professional learning communities;
  14. Attends and takes an active role in all mandatory staff development;
  15. Works with the Instructional Coaching team to determine needs for the schools within the district;
  16. Conduct research around new practices;
  17. Participates in school and district workshops as directed;
  18. Promote efforts to improve the quality of teaching;
  19. And any other duties assigned by Supervisor or Superintendent;
  20. Helps coordinate the vision for the development of required and available assessments across all content areas to meet the needs of teachers as they adjust instruction to meet the needs of all students with rigorous grade level curriculum;
  21. Works with curriculum and applicable staff to evaluate reliability and validity of student assessments utilized in the district for assigned subject areas;
  22. Performs quality assurance on assessment and answer keys for assigned subject areasf
  23. Coordinates revisions, edits and quality control of the required assessments with teachers, principals and central office staff for assigned subject areas;
  24. Works with the technology integration specialists with digital platform use and implementation district wide for assigned subject areas;
  25. Analyzes district required assessment data and shares with district staff, ICs for assigned subject areas for assigned subject areas; and
  26. Works with district staff for vertical alignment of expected curriculum and assessment.

    14. Adheres to district guidelines relative to attendance. Regularly reports to work on time and works additional hours when deemed necessary.
    15. Adheres to ethical, legal and professional standards.
    16. Applies laws, policies, regulations, and procedures fairly, consistently, wisely, and compassionately.
    17. Follows directives as assigned by supervisor.
    18. Refrains from revealing confidential information.
    19. Uses proper administrative procedures for making requests and resolving conflicts.

Education and Qualifications
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate; Master's degree in curriculum or administration; 5 years successful K-12 teaching experience; deep understanding of curriculum spiraling K-12 specific to content areas; preferred experience with emphasis on accountability, (i.e., LEAP, Work Keys, EOC, ACT, and other state accountably).
