Job SummaryResponsible for validating information used for data informed decision making using all tools available to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Utilizes data management tools, application admin tools and backend databases to ensure the consistency, accuracy and completeness of data provided. Collaborates with various university departments, as necessary. Develops exception monitoring and reporting processes and makes recommendations for process improvement. Reports data from both institutional and external databases for completion of ad hoc and survey requests. Coordinates and completes the KSU Fact Book each year. Assists with designing dashboards using KSU data for publication on the department website. Handles assignment of data/report requests within the department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Researches and resolves data quality problems.
2. Provides quality assurance oversight of data flows and stores.
3. Works with multiple campus stakeholders to coordinate timely revisions to student data systems once data issues are present.
4. Manages and writes vital pre-census data reports for the enrollment department so that accurate data is supplied to the University System of Georgia.
5. Manages and maintains data quality documentation.
6. Monitors production data to identify data anomalies and executes corrective actions to ensure data integrity.
7. Maintains scheduled data delivery standards.
8. Works with data stewards to discover and determine data inaccuracies and other data issues.
9. Develops monitoring solutions for data integrity.
10. Responsible for completing ad hoc data requests, report writing, and surveys as assigned.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Required Experience
Some related work experience
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Advanced Degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or related technical field
Preferred Experience
Data management experience with a relational database.
1-3 years of experience working in Institutional Research or other applicable areas in higher education setting

Experience with higher education administrative/student information systems
Experience using data manipulation software applications such as SAS, SQL, etc

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
