Title: Installation and Service Site Supervisor
Reports to: Innovation Center/Service Sales Manager

The company operates as two divisions, Decorative Finishing (DF) and Industrial Solutions (IS).

 

Position Objective

The IS division Installation and Service Site Supervisor will support the Engineered Systems (ENSY) team and the sales team on equipment installation, commissioning, acceptance, and ongoing customer needs for service, training, and repair.  The goal is to deliver the desired customer experience, continually improve customer satisfaction and retention, and support market share growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Installation lead for Wagner industrial finishing equipment including complete systems.
    • Independent implementation of assemblies on customer site, including:
      • Preparation for installation; review drawings and parts lists; conduct premobilization meetings internally and with customer to ensure site readiness; review Gantt chart for installation with consideration for other customer contractor activities that may be occurring on site during Wagner installation; provide new equipment overview to customer and start discussion of preventive maintenance, spare & wear parts, etc.
      • Responsible Wagner representative onsite to lead installation effort and customer support during the installation process through acceptance; includes performing installation of all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, HMI’s, sensors and instrumentation as needed.
      • Responsibility for occupational safety, compliance with the valid safety guidelines and regulations on the construction site.
      • Careful documentation and reporting from the assembly site in writing. 
    • Independent implementation of commissioning, customer training and production support after equipment installation.
      • Coordination with the internal specialist departments, software, and application technicians, as well as our partners and customers on the construction site. 
      • Deadline control and cost monitoring to ensure the SOP (Start of Production), reporting of key figures to internal project team.
  • Support service and after-sales when not on installation site.
    • Proactive and reactive service either on site or remotely using available technology, including timely and detailed service reports.
    • Support the sales team as a subject matter expert; comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations.
    • Selling of audit packages to support service/sales objectives.
  • Build positive relationships with internal team and customers.
    • Assist with and perform lab trials and industry training in the demonstration labs.
    • Support project managers, engineering, and others on the ENSY team during the project planning and execution process.
    • Collaborate with technical team and sales on development of new solutions, sharing information across the organization.
  • Follow all company’s procedures and protocols. Safety is number one in everything you do.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Relationship To Others 

Communication with external customers and serves as main point of contact at installation sites. Frequent contact with the technical team, sales team, project managers, engineers and others on the ENSY team to ensure projects are properly executed and an elevated level of service is provided to all stakeholders.

 

Dimensions of Position

Understand and create solutions to meet customers’ needs. Authority to do what is required to make sure that all systems are operating properly to meet customer expectations, including high level troubleshooting. 

 

Qualifications

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 7+ years of progressive experience in the paint finishing industry or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by the hiring manager and Human Resources.
  • Experience and comfortable presenting to small groups.
  • Proven success in problem solving and commissioning of industrial machinery.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in leading and/or supervising small groups of employees.
  • Professional appearance considering the tasks to be carried out.
  • Valid passport or other approvals to be able to work outside of the U.S.
  • Forklift Certification.
  • Familiar with SharePoint platform and AutoCAD.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Possesses and demonstrates the key traits of a successful Site Supervisor; has the right combination of knowledge, organizational skills, and project management abilities plus strong interpersonal skills; confident and correct demeanor towards customers.
  • Systematic and logical thinking for error analysis
    • Understanding of basic industrial process automation / PLC systems (in/out logic).
    • Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
    • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and Service electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment using all necessary tools and techniques.
  • Precise, independent, and responsible way of working to achieve expected results.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)

 

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a field setting or home office. A job in this category may require walking or standing to a significant degree or may involve sitting with long periods of computer work and phone usage. Requires frequent lifting and carrying of materials and equipment, operating vehicles, tools, and other instruments adhering to all safety requirements. Must be able to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays. Travel is required up to 80% including day trips and extended trips for up to 4 weeks on the road.
