Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing and growing contractor and homeowner sales for the business and providing proper support for inside and outside sales staff.
- Ensure all customers receive excellent customer service in an efficient, timely, professional, and respectful manner.
- Answers customers questions about merchandise and assists with purchase decisions.
- Direct responsibility for ensuring the showroom and display area is organized, signed, cleaned, and presented in a professional manner daily.
- Assists with sales registers, including cash and credit handling.
- Demonstrate and explain merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customer’s needs.
- Performs basic arithmetic as needed to count and take inventory.
- Manages and prioritizes tasks and projects.
- Transfer material between branches for stock if their branch does not have material. Coordinating with other branches on material transfer and timing for customer needs.
- Shows initiative in all aspects of the role.
- Effectively interprets and applies policies and procedures.
- Stocks and organizes supplies; keeps shelves clean and orderly.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and skill in one or more of the following business lines – Construction, Water Sewer and Storm Products, Concrete Accessories, Masonry Supplies, Laser/Surveying Equipment, Hardscapes/Landscaping and Equipment Sales/Rentals.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma, GED or equivalent is preferred.
Previous sales experience preferred but not required.
