Inpatient Unit Assistant Nurse Manager (Registered Nurse)

Hospice of the Comforter, with administrative offices located North of Orlando in Altamonte Springs, is seeking a full time Inpatient Unit Assistant Nurse Manager (Registered Nurse) who will be responsible for providing oversight of the Inpatient Unit staff on the day shift and in the absences of the Inpatient Unit Manager. This position is responsible for the supervision of patient care staff and operations within the Inpatient Unit to provide excellent hospice and palliative care.
Responsibilities:
Implements operating processes, procedures and systems for providing patient care and documenting and charting activities and patient condition and symptom changes.
Assures a high standard of quality care consistent with each profession on the interdisciplinary team and the IPU & RR mission statement.
Assists with managing and assuring the quality of patient care and patient safety. Investigates patient care safety issues, works with manager to determine circumstances, and takes required action to ensure patient safety and quality of care. Report on results and recommends actions to resolve and prevent further issues and problems.
Provides oversight and evaluates all admissions, discharges and transfers for medical compliance and reimbursement qualifications.
Maintains knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations for the operations of a hospice Inpatient Unit, and ensures the IPU & RR are compliant.
