We are looking for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our In-Patient Transplant Surgery team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute is one of the largest liver transplant centers in the nation, with more than 100 transplants a year. We transplant patients faster than any other center in the region.
Job Duties
Provide and coordinate clinical practice for PAtients pre- and post-kidney, liver, pancreas, and intestinal transplant, Hepatobiliary surgery for PAtients followed by the Transplant surgery service
The APPis responsible for conducting patient assessments, performing evaluations, prescribing, obtaining H&Ps, order and review diagnostic testing, formulate plans, write progress notes, andprovide educationor patients and their families.
In collaboration with attending physician and multi-disciplinary team, round daily on patients to assess, diagnose, plan treatment, set priorities and realistic outcomes, and evaluate effectiveness of treatments
Post-operative stabilization and management with discharge planning and collaborative care
Discharge planning in coordination with our case manager and social worker
This position isinpatient only,working(2)12-hour shifts per4-week period.
