Job Summary
The Infusion Pharmacy Technician will successfully complete a variety of discretionary and non-discretionary tasks under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist. The Infusion Pharmacy Technician will assist with all aspects of departmental operations in accordance with CIBD policies and procedures, and requirements of State and Federal regulatory agencies. In addition to providing day-to-day operational support, the Infusion Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for refilling the Pyxis machines, transporting medications to support the needs of the Infusion Center, as well as compounding, packing, and labelling medications.

CIBD is the regional grantee for the Western States Region/Region IX providing regional leadership, fiscal and administrative oversight, grants management, capacity building, clinical education, technical assistance, evaluation, and outreach to public and private health agencies at the local, state, and federal levels.

Job Summary

Essential Job Duties
- Ensure compliance with all USP 797 & 800 requirements including using proper aseptic technique for all pharmaceutical compounding, ensuring routine cleaning requirements are met, and supporting documentation is completed.
- Maintain adequate inventory amounts of medication and supplies to support pharmaceutical compounding operations including maintaining accurate inventory records and coordinating with manufacturers and wholesalers to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Work with the billing team to support the timely processing of patient claims, which includes accurate documentation of pharmaceutical codes (i.e. J-codes).
- Utilize effective communication to collaborate with other members of the clinical team with the goal of achieving positive patient outcomes.
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of five (5) years of related outpatient/ambulatory/hospital pharmacy experience
- Active California Technician License in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy
- High proficiency in the use of Excel, Word, and Outlook applications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
- Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Basic Life Support
- HIPAA training
