Under immediate supervision, performs a wide variety of tasks assisting in the maintenance and repair of the City's infrastructure comprising: streets, sidewalks, drainage, reading meters and signs, in addition to other duties as assigned.
- Perform water meter reading (AMR) duties for billing of water consumption
- Help repair/maintain water and sanitary lines, water meters and related components when called upon.
- Help repair and maintain storm water lines, inlets, etc.
- Perform preventive maintenance as directed on any infrastructure item.
- Assist in maintenance of street and drainage systems and sidewalks.
- Operate backhoes, skidster, mini-excavator, trucks, and specialized equipment, as needed
- Cleans machinery, building, and grounds, Digs trenches for laying pipe, Backfill ditches.
- Clean and maintain city equipment
- Provides customer service and coordinates with the public, vendors, and other internal/external departments or agencies, to provide assistance and information regarding schedules and ongoing operations, respond to work orders and customer/departmental requests, address and resolve complaints, conduct follow-ups, and facilitate the most complex maintenance activities and other departmental operations.
- Prepares, maintains, updates, and/or submits reports, records, bills, work orders, logs, and other documentation; and uses, maintains, and/or updates databases and computerized systems and software; work may involve compiling and/or coding data.
- Performs other task as assigned
In addition to the above, Infrastructure Technician II requires:
- Perform maintenance operations of street and drainage systems and sidewalks.
- CDL license required for Street Sweeper and other various vehicles with experience in operating sweeper, dump truck, backhoes, trench machines and specialized equipment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Current Texas Driver's License
- Texas CDL Driver's License Preferred for Infrastructure Technician I
- Current CDL Driver's License Required for Infrastructure Technician II
- Infrastructure Technician II must obtain TCEQ D Water and Wastewater licenses within 12 months of hire
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least (1) year of practical hands-on experience in infrastructure/heavy equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience. Technical writing and report preparation experience is a plus.
- Language Skills, Basic Mathematical Skills, Reasoning Ability, Basic computer skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
