LOCATION

IFG Companies is hiring in Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, North Carolina and on a case-by-case basis in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia. Applicants must reside in one of these states to be hired. Remote and flexible work arrangements are provided to all employees based on manager approval.

SALARY RANGE

The expected salary range is $130,000 to $155,000 and subject to change at any time at the discretion of the Company.


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Infrastructure Cloud Engineer is responsible for leading the creation of a cloud platform technology framework and providing technical expertise supporting IT initiatives in cloud computing and automation. Also responsible for ensuring that critical cloud applications are designed and optimized for reliability, security, high availability, and disaster recovery. Performs various activities required to design, implement, maintain, and continuously automate a large, complex cloud-based computing environment. Provides technical guidance to team members and when called upon, serves as a technical liaison between internal departments. These activities will drive the creation of new infrastructure and environments, which will be critical for the growth and adoption of broad cloud/automation goals.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Functions as the subject matter expert in cloud technology framework within the infrastructure team.
  • Identifies and provides solutions for building scalable, reliable, and secure cloud environments that support the enterprise needs.
  • Responsible for operational monitoring of cloud infrastructure systems and business applications, including trouble shooting the Azure infrastructure components for optimal availability, performance, scalability, connectivity, and services.
  • Provide technical guidance to Application and Data teams to use cloud technologies and implement cloud infrastructure.
  • Partners with the application teams to ensure compliance with High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts of operations.
  • Implements middleware application-specific requirements as needed.
  • Responsible for migration of web-based solutions to a public cloud (primarily Azure)
  • Makes recommendations on effective platform provisioning and security as it relates to cloud services
  • Participates in enterprise projects in the cloud; functioning as the lead resource covering technical and architectural assessments, services, analytics, security, testing, and deployment
  • Utilizing best practices for management, security, architecture, configuration, disaster recovery, administration, and automation of the enterprise environment with cloud technologies.
  • Collaborate regularly with members of IT, business units, functional teams, field personnel, and internal and external audit functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Possess deep technical knowledge and extensive experience with complex IT environments, including applications, middleware, storage, networks, information security, and operations, and a solid understanding of cloud services, cloud-native architectures, and application delivery models.
  • Firm understanding of Zero Trust methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure security, compliance, and governance
  • Expert knowledge of Active Directory (Azure Active Directory, AAD, Entra ID)
  • Expert understanding of how data-driven applications and dynamic and event-based architectures work within the cloud services.
  • Working knowledge of SQL database administration and optimization in Azure hosted environments.
  • Expertise in building distributed scalable systems based on docker containers and orchestration through Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, etc
  • Experience in CI/CD and applying the DevOps mindset and principles
  • Excellent communication skills – clear verbal and written communication to be able to address people at all levels of the organization, including the executive level.
  • Exhibits the ability to take a project and run it to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills, manage multiple timelines and complete tasks quickly within the constraints of project timelines and budgets.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with managing Azure cost, budget, and forecasting of expenses.
  • Growth mindset and a willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and frameworks.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of infrastructure experience (including strong understanding of databases, SaaS, and Dev-Ops), including in-depth experience with planning strategy for building out and executing infrastructure integrations and migrations.
  • 5+ years of Azure infrastructure experience, working with Azure virtual Machines, PaaS, access control (IAM), advanced knowledge of public cloud architecture and offerings (Azure), including serverless architecture, enterprise service business, scale on demand, DBaaS, IaaS.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical demands are that of an office environment, climate controlled, with minimal physical exertion. This position requires prolonged sitting, ability to utilize a computer and interactions with others in meetings or via phone.
