Please upload transcripts to your application.Position OverviewUnder immediate supervision, for a period of 12 to 24 months, with emphasis on orientation and training, prepares written documentation of digital related training activity and forensic analysis observations; travels to and attends technical training conferences/seminars/classes related to digital crimes and evidence recovery tools/techniques; provides an entry level of support and assistance to investigative agents and law enforcement/criminal justice agencies in various components of digital related crime investigations; receives comprehensive laboratory and office training in the forensic analysis of digital and computer-related evidence resulting from criminal and administrative investigations.Job Responsibilities40% 1. Travels to and attends technical training conferences/seminars/classes and on-line training related to* Digital crimes and evidence recovery tools/techniques in order to obtain and subsequently maintain a comprehensive knowledge, skill level and certifications.30% 2. Receives comprehensive laboratory and office training in the forensic analysis of seized digital and computer-related evidence resulting from criminal and/or government employee misconduct, including but not limited to, forensic backups, restorations, examinations, and forensic analysis of seized computer-related hardware, software, digital media, electronically stored data/information of activities involved in various computer and digital investigations.* Prepares written documentation, such as training reports, of computer and digital related training activity related to forensic analysis observation such as forensic examination findings by a Digital Forensic Examiner, to include procedures used and evidence located* Participates in meetings with prosecutors/investigators; and assists with preparation of exhibits and testimony for use during trial.15% 3.

Provides a basic level of support and assistance to investigative agents and law enforcement/criminal justice agencies* Participates in various components of digital and computer-related crime investigations, involving but not limited to investigation involving child pornography/exploitations, death investigations; financial crimes, narcotics; and various internet crimes.(Job Responsibilities continued)10% 4. Participates with the Digital Crimes Unit liaising with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies/criminal justice authorities as well as the Illinois State Police, relating to their agency's involvement in digital and computer-related investigations.5% 5. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonable and within the scope of the duties enumerated above and works overtime as required to fulfill these duties.Minimum QualificationsRequires completion of a bachelor's degree, preferably with a minimum of 6 semester hours of coursework in computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, network and telecommunications management, data analytics or a related field;ORRequires completion of two years of technical school in computer science or a related field.

(The technical school must be accredited by an agency accredited by the U.S. Department of Education, and clock hours must be convertible into college semester or quarter hours.)ORRequires satisfactory completion of 24 semester hours in computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, network and telecommunications management, or data analytics or directly related field from an accredited college or university;ORRequires two years of experience in computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, network and telecommunications management, data analytics, graphic arts/design or a related field;ORRequires an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY certification appropriate to the option of the specific position.
