Job Description
Mann Eye Institute is currently seeking a full-time Information Technology Specialist to join our team in Austin. As a key member of the Mann Eye Institute IT team, this position is responsible for all aspects of Information Technology support, including servers, desktop systems, communications hardware/software and office systems. The IT Specialist position installs, modifies and makes repairs to server hardware and software, network communication hardware and software, personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical advice and support to system users.
Our ideal candidate will have at least five years of current experience supporting technology equipment in medium sized network of servers, desktop systems, and communications devices technologies in a corporate environment.
Requirements:- Demonstrated knowledge of Windows servers and desktop products
- Demonstrated knowledge of access control in a Windows server environment
- Demonstrated ability to support networked multi-function printers
- Demonstrated working knowledge of current network communications devices and protocols, server and desktop technologies
- Firm understanding of network equipment and protocols
- Orientation and training of new staff
- Ability to manage multiple projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously
- Highly developed verbal and written communications
- Remote and deskside support
- Manage support ticket queue and escalated tickets
- Hardware/software rollouts
- Light local travel between sites is required
Desired Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience supporting EHR and EPM applications
- An understanding of ophthalmology practice operations and equipment
- Experience with network hardware configuration/installation, including Meraki firewalls, network switches and wireless access points
- SharePoint design and administration
Education and Experience:
- A+ certification or equivalent level of education preferred
- Diploma in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Business Administration; supplemented with one or more courses in current technology is not required but a plus.
- 3-5+ years experience in IT end-user support; Healthcare Industry experience is preferred but not required.
