Job Description
People Incorporated of Virginia is accepting applications for a full-time Information Technology Specialist. This position, based in Abingdon, VA., has responsibility for desktop support including laptops, desktop, printers and phones for staff and facilities in SWVA, The IT Specialist is responsible for but not limited to fielding incoming help requests, documenting work and solutions, troubleshooting, and computer/mobile device deployment. Responsibilities also include onboarding new personnel, procurement of IT equipment, and ensuring compliance with agency retention policy. The ideal candidate must desire to work in a fast-paced environment covering a broad aspect of technology tasks. Applicant must also display a high level of initiative and have the ability to work independently or with others. Some travel will be required.
Skills and Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED with a strong interest in computers and technology.
- A technology certification is desired.
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of basic computer hardware.
- Experience with desktop and portable operating systems and platforms.
- Ability to learn multiple software, applications, and a wide variety of technologies.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Applicants with CompTIA A+ and Network + Certifications will be given a greater priority.
