Job Summary: 
This position is a non-technical position and serves as the Audit Lead in the Division of Technology and Innovation's Quality Assurance Unit. It is responsible for coordinating internal and external audits, reviewing operational procedures to ensure compliance with industry technology standards and/or legal and regulatory requirements, using judgement to determine whether strategies are adequate to prevent reoccurrences based on the risk assessments of specific area of concern, preparing reports summarizing audit findings and recommendations for corrective action, communicating findings from audits to and from management, and following up after audit responses to ensure compliance and follow-through. Research includes the cross-referencing of various Florida Cybersecurity Standards and identifying compliance issues. 

 

This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines with quality work. Additionally, the applicant must possess critical thinking and analytical abilities to perform well both independently and as a team player and be able to lead projects to completion. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of success in the audit/inspection/compliance sector or related fields, as well as the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls. Preference will be given to those who have proven experience in information technology (IT) and management INFORMATION SYSTEMS (MIS) or an auditing/compliance.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree is business administration, management, economics, computer science, programming, information technology or a related field from an accredited college or university.

 

Experience as described about can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

Note: 
This position works in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. You will be expected to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. 
This is a full-time position with work hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. You may periodically be required to work beyond normal work hours to meet a deadline.

Background Screening Requirements 
It is the policy of the Florida Department of Education that applicants for employment undergo level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer. 

 

All applicants for employment or to volunteer who are selected for an interview will be provided with the Consent to Background Screening form for level 2 screening, the Affidavit of Good Moral Character, and the Notice of Rights. The leading candidate for employment or to volunteer will be required to execute the Consent form and Affidavit, report to a designated location, and submit fingerprints for level 2 screening.
