Ultra Intelligence & Communications (I&C) has an opening for an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for its Corporate Headquarters in Austin, Texas. The ISSO will assist the ISSM in ensuring full compliance with all requirements under the NIST Risk Management Framework, the DCSA Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM), and the NISPOM. The ISSO is an Information Assurance Subject Matter Expert and will provide daily hands-on support for all systems processing classified information.
- Ensure systems and data are protected, operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and practices as outlined in the RMF document package.
- Provide clear guidance to company employees and recommend modifications to operations policies and/or procedures as appropriate.
- Prepare, review and update authorization packages.
- Notify the ISSM of changes affecting the ATO. Coordinate any changes to hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM prior to any change.
- Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals.
- Ensure audit records are collected, reviewed, and documented (to include any anomalies).
- Conduct the cyber security portion of the self-inspection.
- Identify vulnerabilities in the systems and assist with implementation of mitigation efforts.
- Follow approved procedures for clearing, sanitizing and destroying hardware and media.
- Assist the ISSM in meeting their oversight duties and responsibilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Active DOD Secret security clearance. A prior clearance that was active within the last 24 months may also suffice.
- Must have 3+ years of experience working as an ISSO.
- Must have a strong working knowledge of the DAAPM, NIST SP 800-53, RMF, and NISPOM.
Candidate must have the following Information Assurance certifications and security training or obtain the certificates within 6 months of hire:
- Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Technician Level II or Information Assurance Manager II within 6 months of the date of hire.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Higher-level certifications such as CISM or CISSP strongly desired.
- Security + certification.
- BS in an IT-related or equivalent systems related discipline.
- Understand the technical configurations of Windows and Linux Operating Systems in physical and virtual environments.
- Windows and Linux system administration skills with the ability to read and understand event logs.
- Technical knowledge of vulnerability scanning applications, Security Information and Event Management, and Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems.
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite.
