Overview

Information Security Engineer completes tasks designed to ensure security of the organizations systems and information assets. Protects against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction and assists in developing information technology (IT) security policies and standards. Being an Information Security Engineer works with end users to determine the needs of individual departments. Implements company approved policies or procedures and tracks compliance throughout the organization. Reports directly to the Executive Vice President of Information Security with an indirect line to the “local senior management”

Duties

• Monitor the organization’s servers and networks for security breaches and investigate when one occurs.
• Use and maintain software, such as firewalls and data encryption programs, to protect sensitive information.
• Check for vulnerabilities in computer and network systems.
• Research the latest IT security trends.
• Prepare reports that document general metrics, attempted attacks, and security breaches.
• Develop security standards and best practices for their organization.
• Recommend security enhancements to management or senior IT staff.
• Help computer users when they need to install or learn about new security products and procedures.

Requirements:

• 
  5+ years of experience in systems or network management
• 1+ years of experience in Information Security.
• Proficient with Windows management.
• Proficient with Network management.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experienced with vulnerability testing and techniques.
• Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities.
• Understand patch management.
• Knowledge of firewalls, antivirus and IDPS concepts.
• Experienced in installing security software and documenting security issues.
