Are you inquisitive? Do you enjoy investigating the cause of a problem? If so, Modern Woodmen of America needs an Information Security Analyst II to protect our information assets. You would investigate, analyze, and respond to security incidents using a variety of security tools to detect and respond to threats. This includes conducting vulnerability, security configuration, and penetration testing assessments of systems and networks.
What you would do:
- Investigate security incidents to be reviewed and/or investigated by Information Security Managers or Administrators.
- Protect Modern Woodmen information assets by adhering to Information Security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Monitor multiple information security systems daily and respond to alerts to resolve security violations or threats.
- Perform ad hoc vulnerability scans as needed or required.
- Backup the Information Security Administrator.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and procedures by all areas of the organization, including reporting non-adherence and material nonconformity to standards and policies to supervisor or manager.
- Participate in the development of information security policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development of an education program that promotes security planning, awareness, and training throughout the organization.
- Work collaboratively with IT staff to ensure optimal data security functionality.
- Provide input in preparation of project plans and maintain knowledge of standard implementation methodology.
- Participate in status meetings and conference calls as needed for assigned projects.
- Perform Risk Assessments and user access control assignments for assigned information systems.
- Identify priorities, assess security issues, and take appropriate corrective action(s); collaborate with other team members in detecting and solving security problems and determine the security impacts and control measure weaknesses.
- Identify trends and risks to current security environment and when necessary, document risks and exposures, and any recommended corrective action(s).
What we expect from you:
- Bachelor’s degree related to Information Security or commensurate work experience.
- 1-2 years’ experience within an Information Security position.
- Understand information processing technology and information protection and security administration concepts.
- Stay current with latest information security threats, exploits, trends, and intelligence.
- Communicate effectively, creating and maintaining strong working relationships.
- Effective planning and organizational skills, including handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Additional information about this opportunity:
- The annual pay range for this position is $67,000-79,000. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
- This is a hybrid position (3 days in office/2 days work from home (WFH) per week), located at Modern Woodmen’s home office in Rock Island, IL. Must be able to work in the office 5 days per week for initial job training. Some WFH days during training would be allowed on a case-by-case basis.
- This is a full-time position: 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day), Monday- Friday, with flexible start time between 7:00AM-9:00AM.
