INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES DEPARTMENTThe information Security Office establishes policies and procedures to ensure the County conforms to state, federal and local regulations with regard to Information Security. The Information Technologies staff delivers creative, practical solutions and services in support of the current and future technological needs of El Dorado County. Additionally, the department develops, promotes and presents security awareness training and education.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Perform a variety of professional level information technology activities related to the coordination and implementation of County-wide cyber security compliance activities and operations, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information technology systems. Staff provide expertise in cyber security for the County and report on findings and recommendations for corrective action. They also assess information and facilitate remediation of identified vulnerabilities with the County enterprise network, systems and applications.

- Participate in County-wide technology security program which includes, but is not limited to, security awareness, risk assessment, business impact analysis, disaster recovery, and business resumption.
- Monitor the integrity and security of County networks and all related components, including human element, physical and virtual servers, domain controllers, desktops, laptops, printers and other devices which utilize the County network.
- Scan and monitor network activity, filters malicious activity and virus probability.
- Conduct continuous analysis to identify network and system security vulnerabilities.
- Assist in development, coordination, and maintenance of policies related to Local Area Network, Wide Area Network, mainframe, and desktop Information Security issues.
- Make recommendations of solutions to ensure requirements are met for systems and/or applications.
