WSP is currently initiating a search for an Information Security Analyst 1for our Laramie, WY office . The following locations will also be considered: Remote. Your Impact- An entry-level Information Security Analyst works under the guidance of a senior analyst to plan and implement computer security responsibilities.
- Monitor the network for security breaches, investigate violations, prepare reports, and improve overall cybersecurity.
- Reviews and analyzes systems, platforms, applications, and their interfaces to quickly acquire system knowledge to understand the design and functionality.
- Identifies requirements, design, and test procedures that will ensure the system will perform as expected.
- Performs security assessments of systems, reviewing software with a focus on finding flaws and suggesting possible improvements.
- Documents analysis performed with resulting anomalies identified.
- Presents findings to peers, customers, and management.
- Monitors network usage, performance and ensures system availability and reliability.
- Communicates and collaborates with third-party vendors that provide services to ensure networks operate as per expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Security, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related Engineering discipline.
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience working as a data scientist/analyst.
- Technical writing experience and the ability to write technically and grammatically correct documentation.
- Must be able to be self-directed and able to work independently and with a team; must be able to multi-task.
- Must understand the value of open communication and have a track record of interacting effectively with stakeholders and team members.
- Systems Engineering, Systems Design, and Troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members Good to have - Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or MCSE a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.
