Job description

Major Responsibilities:

  • RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL FUNCTIONS AT INFORMATION DESK ON SHIFT WORKED
    • 1)• Responsibility of issuing patient/visitor passes and issuing temporary passes. In any event of the unannounced regulatory agency inspectors’ visit, notify administration immediately.
    • 2)• Greet everyone who enters the hospital and check patient rooms on computer for visitors.
    • 3)• Register flower deliveries and deliver flowers
    • 4)• Answer phones courteously and give clear, accurate directions to hospital. Give clear directions and maps to areas patients/visitors need to go to.
    • 5)Performs other duties and projects as requested by leadership.
  • OVERSEES VOLUNTEERS ON WORKED SHIFT
    • 1)• Appropriate communication and public relations with volunteer staff.
    • 2)• Support policies and procedures to uphold the high standards of the Volunteer Services Department.
    • 3)• Responsible for attending all Volunteer Department meetings and other meetings at manager’s request.

Education/Experience Required:

    • High School Graduate or equivalent


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • • Typing, computer skills • Good communication skills • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment • Ability to be customer focused • Ability to demonstrate decision making requirements

Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, (day & evening hours) • Maybe called into work with little prior notice • Ability to relate with adult volunteer and volunteens • Ability to assist patients in wheelchairs (push wheelchairs to nursing floors, etc.) • Ability to work with many interruptions maintaining professional demeanor.
  • If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
