Overview:
Schedule: 8am - 5pm

*The Child Development Center operates from 6:30am - 8pm. Availability to work flexible hours is highly preferred*

Purpose Statement/Position Summary:
The Infant/Toddler Teacher is responsible for providing a stimulating, safe, and developmentally appropriate educational environment where infant and preschool children have the opportunity to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. Teacher develops and implements daily lesson plans for early childhood education classrooms, leads and supervises infant and preschool Associate Teachers in curriculum, classroom environment, and parent relationships. Maintains classroom records, including the assessment of children and the collection of data necessary for the evaluation of early childhood educations programs.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
175 days of 3+hours per day within 4 years. Experience coaching and training staff members and leading a classroom. Experience in working with diverse cultures. Experience working with children ages 1 year to 24 months old preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certifications:
24 units ECE/CD including core courses and 16 GE units OR AA or higher in ECE/CD or related field with 3 units supervised field experience in ECE/CD setting. Infant/Toddler teachers need to have taken 6 Infant/Toddler Units. BLS, CPR and First Aid Certification card required.
Pay Scale Information: CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
