Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer II

Summary:The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Job Responsibilities: Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency. Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications. Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays. Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.Skills:* Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability. Team player and detail oriented.* Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports. Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering required. 2-4 years experience required.Candidate Requirements: -degree in Industrial or Mechanical engineering preferred- Need to know Microsoft products- Industrial engineering is a mist CAD experience is not required but could be helpful They will review installation diagrams and use a stop watch-
Hands on exp in trade exp is related – (working hands on)- Some on the job training for current standards, complete time studies, have a basic understand and education in mechanical, or manufacturing engineering- Don’t need a lot of experience. Time study experience would be a very helpful background- Trained by a white collar staff and spending a great deal of time with the blue collar staff to get an understanding of current process- 50% of the day would be spent on the floor working on time studies Launching new models at the plant Building new electric vehicles. These models are drastically different than the trucks they build every day Review the new design with the manufacturing engineers Determine how to write the average installation for a component on any of these new models Working on a SWI (standard work instruction). These work off of a job element sheet (JES) These explain how to actually build the truck to the operators and is used to hold the operators accountable to quality and speed how quickly they can make it Cap trim pre-paint and chassis and a floater to work in each area over time
Typical Day in the Role:
So that suppliers can paint a good picture to candidates, can you walk me through what a typical day might look like? This can be broken down into percentages, example could be 10% meetings, 50% heads down work, 40% collaborative team work
Can you describe their level of interaction with you and others on the team?
Once this assignment gets underway, do you think there’s any chance for extension later on or converting to FTE - 30% heads down- 30% shop floor- 30% meeting environment- 10% Collaboration time- Contractor will be included in a daily huddle both with the team and plant team

Candidates Skills:
