The Strategic Systems Analysis Group provides life cycle program support for US Navy Strategic Systems Programs, US Navy acquisition Program Executive Offices, National Nuclear Security Administration, and the other Defense Department agencies. Specific areas of support include leadership and management organizational support, risk management, strategic communication, and high consequence events prevention. SSAG also provides defense strategy and policy development and implementation support.
SPA has a near term need for an Industrial Organizational Psychology Program Analyst Intern to work in Alexandria, VA.

Principal responsibility is to assist in guiding organizational development activities for SSP and other clients leveraging and building on the High Consequence Event Prevention Framework, a vehicle for strengthening and sustaining culture in organizations engaged in complex system activities. Secondary responsibility will be to support other high reliability organization consulting and development activities. Additional assignments focused on other SPA projects to leverage relevant experience and capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s student in Industrial Organizational Psychology or related field during 2024 Summer Intern program.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
- Ability to prepare, for an organization, a cohesive and strategic implementation plan that focuses on establishing a common standard for employee behaviors.
- Ability to perform objective analysis integrating disparate qualitative and quantitative data to develop actionable information.
- Excellent skill with standard Microsoft Office products and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- 1-3 years or more experience in support of I/O development activities at a commercial industrial entity engaged in complex system development, manufacture, or operation.
- Organizational Development related certification (e.g., Change Management).
