Georgia-Pacific is seeking someone to join their Green Bay Broadway maintenance team as anIndustrial Mobile Equipment Technician.The individual in this position will create value by troubleshooting issues and performing preventative maintenance on all Mobile Equipment such as forklifts, golf carts, mobile cranes, Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs), etc., which will assist in the overall upkeep and advancement of the production process.

The current schedule will be Monday through Friday 8-hour shifts. Besides a great starting salary based on experience, you will also receive a full benefits package, overtime opportunities, and immediate eligibility for vacation. External applicants are eligible to receive a retention bonus equal to 15% of the total earnings from the first 90 calendar days of employment. To receive this payment, the applicant must be employed and in good standing at the time of payout.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct periodic maintenance on all rolling stock in accordance with the scheduled maintenance requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain batteries and battery-powered equipment such as forklifts, golf carts, aerial lifts, etc.
  • Record keeping of work performed using the work order system.
  • Coordinate procurement of parts to conduct repairs.
  • Assist in maintaining a proper inventory of stocked parts.
  • Perform needed engine, transmission, and hydraulic system repairs on front-end loaders, forklifts, man lifts, skid steers, extended boom lifts, cranes, and other small engine equipment.
  • Work with minimal supervision and make own decisions.
  • Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to eight (8) hours a day.
  • Communicate with all levels of the organization via reports, email, verbally, and/or in small/large group settings, within a team environment.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One or more of the following:
    • Two (2) years or more experience as a mechanical technician or diesel mechanic in a manufacturing or military environment OR general maintenance on Mobile Equipment
    • Mechanical Journeyman
    • A technical certificate or higher in an automotive or industrial maintenance field
  • Must be able to speak, read and write english

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Five (5) years or more experience in the maintenance of large Mobile Equipment; including front-end loaders, man lifts, skid steers, extended boom lifts, forklifts, cranes, and small engines.
  • One (1) year or more experience troubleshooting and repairing diesel, gasoline, and propane engines, including fuel injection systems, turbos, etc.
  • One (1) year or more experience troubleshooting and repairing transmissions and drive trains.
  • One (1) year or more experience in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic systems.
  • One (1) year or more experience performing diagnostics and repairs to electrical systems.
  • One (1) year or more experience performing welding repairs.
