JOB SUMMARY:

The Reliability Mechanic III is responsible for, but not limited to overseeing, maintaining, repairing, performing tooling changes, Installation and repair of electrical (minor electrical), plumbing, pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic, and other production/processing equipment. They may be responsible for evaluating problematic systems or facilities and determining what installation or repair services need to be performed. They may be assigned to perform preventative maintenance, up-time inspections, and machine overhauls at various frequency. The Reliability Mechanic III must also keep Safety and Quality in mind when all tasks are performed by them or those they are responsible for overseeing.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Capabilities:

· Ensure all company and OSHA safety programs are followed.

· Ensure all GMP policies and Food safety procedures are followed.

· Ensure all required GFSI, FDA, USDA, Third Party Audit, and company procedures and policies related to food safety are followed.

· Demonstrate proper LOTO

· Inspects work for completeness. Informs supervisor when job assignments / PM are complete and ready for inspection.

· Determines material, equipment, and supplies to be used. Transfers equipment from one project to another as necessary.

· Keeps routine records and PM records up to date.

· Installs, inspects, repairs and maintains the electrical (minor electrical), plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other related systems in Beverage department.

· Demonstrate understanding of the GMP Food Safety Standards. The ability to complete tasks while following safe practices about company policies, GMPs, and food safety observation.

· Computer skills – Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Outlook, edit interpret plant drawing and schematics, computer software used in the business operation.

· Demonstrate the ability to perform routine uptime inspections of the Production areas, demonstrate ability to identify abnormalities during visual inspections

· Demonstrate the correct method to fit a bearing insert into a housing, calculate keyway, key length and proper fit into assembly "shaft to the gearbox."

· Demonstrate the ability to measure, cut, and lace a conveyor belt while ensuring it stays square and track belt and using the correct tensioning tool, demonstrate the correct method of V-Belt Tensions

· Demonstrate the ability to navigate the various Human Machine Interface (HMI) panels throughout the plant

· Demonstrate a basic understanding of the Plant Equipment, air compressor, boilers, cooling towers and plant water supply systems

· Demonstrate how to identify the different types of photo electric sensors that are used throughout the plant and describe their operation

· Training Certified in areas to perform tasks LOTO, Fall Protection, Ladder Safety, SlipsTrips & Falls, Back Safety, Confined Space Entry, Hot Work Permit, Ariel Lift Operator, Forklift Operator, Rigging, Ammonia Safety, and Arc Flash Boundaries.

· Able to explain evacuation procedure, locate SDS, PPE requirements in various parts of the facility

· Make essential repairs using the MIG and TIG welders and ability to teach proper safe use of the hand and hydraulic brakes.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

· Moderate understanding towards “Theory of operations” for surrounding production equipment.

· Ability to proficiently troubleshoot when equipment breakdown events occur.

· Ability to perform PM’s or work requests generated for the Operations department with minimal supervision.

· Ability to generate value added work requests through performing Up Time Inspections utilizing ultra-sonic devices and other external tools to Identify premature failures of beverage equipment.

· Able to demonstrate effectively verbal and written communication, while working autonomously and work well in a team environment.

 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High School or GED or related technical field. At least two years of education and training beyond high school level in general maintenance and repair, or a closely related area. One year experience in maintenance operations including two years in a supervisory capacity. Other similar work or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be subject to variant temperatures. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, protective shoes, protective clothing, and in the plant, a hard hat.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
