Job Description
- Evaluate, design and improve people, material and information flow in all aspects of value stream.
- Measure and improve work methods and maintain time standards using Methods Time Measurement (MTM), stopwatch time studies and work sampling studies.
- Teach and support development of standardized work tools in production areas
- Design manual and semi-automated work systems with flexible capacity with respect to number of operators.
- Create/maintain current and future facilities and equipment layouts using CAD.
- Lead, coordinate and support equipment relocations, installations, retirement, or transfer projects.
- Create Value Stream Maps (VSM) to document current state and design future state for production and administrative processes (VSDiA).
- Determine appropriate inventory levels for supermarkets using kanban calculation and design supermarkets for Work in Process (WIP).
- Design, implement and improve material handling systems, including input on packaging design.
- Design, implement, and improve pull systems and continuous flow systems.
- Perform ergonomics assessments and make improvements to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Create and maintain production routings and material allocations.
- Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement activities to eliminate deviations.
- Support BPS activities and coach/mentor associates (System CIP, Point CIP, VSM)
Qualifications
- BS Engineering required; Industrial/Systems Engineering preferred
- 2+ years technical experience preferred
- Experience in lean manufacturing
- Project management, problem solving and analytical skills
