This Industrial Engineer is an excellent problem solver who leads process, quality system, and related continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing and warehousing operations. The role also works with the company’s suppliers, vendors, partners to improve costs, quality and service related to raw materials and operating supplies.
Responsibilities:
- Assist VP of Operations and Sr. Staff with improvement projects and Strategy Deployment items.
- Leads SD action plans from time to time.
- Assists with KPI reporting and data analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
- Leads action plans to improve KPIs in assigned areas.
- Cell design.
- Optimizes use of floor space as measured by revenue generated per square foot and other metrics.
- Assists team leaders in problem solving and improvement projects as assigned.
- Ensures company safety, government compliance, and regulatory requirements are met for produced and warehoused products.
- Participates in daily management (DM) and drives immediate RCA/CM by working closely with employees. A
- champion of the DM process.
- Reduces cost by eliminating waste in all areas of operations, including manufacturing, warehousing, and other areas as assigned.
- Designs equipment and methods for production and implements using Lean methodologies.
- Develops capital equipment, including justifications, project plans, implementation, and results audits.
- Teaches and leads others to learn and use lean/CI principles.
- Participates in Kaizen events.
- Leads kaizen events once certified.
- Supports Item/BOM/Shop Router development and product costing activities.
- Assists with design of scheduling systems using pull system, one piece flow, TOC and other lean methodologies.
- Develops Kanban and oversees material management methodologies.
- Achieves inventory turns, stock outs and related goals.
- Ensures standard work and other process documents are followed, maintained, and improved.
- Accomplishes at least 8x annual salary in cost savings to company through process improvement, productivity, and quality gains, raw materials, supplies improvements, and general waste reduction.
- Documents improvements and quantifiable gains.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competencies Desired for this role:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive manufacturing engineering accomplishments in a lean/CI environment.
- BS degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.
- Lean certifications and SME Certifications a plus
- A solid understanding of lean/continuous improvement principles, and a track record of developing and implementing lean business processes.
- Experience with international supply base a plus
- Goal oriented, organized, well developed financial analysis, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Valid Driver’s license
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Periodically subject to construction or warehouse environments
