1st Shift Monday to Friday
Training Schedule: 8 AM to 4:30 PM M-F
Start at $35 per hour with at least five years of applicable work experience.
The Electrician position consists of installing, repairing and maintaining plant electrical systems and equipment throughout the LG Chem Ohio Petrochemical, Inc. (LGCOP) facility in Ravenna, Ohio with minimal supervision. The LGCOP campus includes an ABS compounding plant and R&D center. The position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• As the Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for supporting the R&D center: laboratories, testing equipment, IT equipment and building systems. As well as the manufacturing process by trouble shooting, preventative maintenance, repair of all ABS related extrusion, mixing, packaging machinery and equipment.
• The position will perform complicated maintenance, installation and repair work on electrical circuits, wiring, systems, sensors, drives, fixtures, power distribution, motors, generators, control panels and various other equipment and systems within the plant.
• Perform minor welding as needed, such as fabrication of installation brackets and panel mounts.
• Fit and connect electrical conduit using various tools necessary to layout, cut, thread, and bend as well as cut holes. Install pull boxes and hand holes.
• Troubleshoot industrial control systems such as: temperature control systems, electrical heat sources, chilled water cooling sources, laboratory equipment and manufacturing equipment.
• Utilize LGCOP’s computerized work order system for repair and maintenance activities performed.
• Read and work with electrical schematics, blueprints, sketches, layouts, circuit diagrams or specifications.
• Abide by safe work standards including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, and appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), NFPA 70E (Arc flash)
• Inspect, maintain, and repair wiring, motors, switchboards, switches, blown fuses, various indoor & outdoor lighting fixtures and electrical mechanisms at an industrial level 110 VAC – 480 VAC, as well as 12-24V DC.
• Install, inspect, clean, and lubricate various AC and DC motors.
• Be responsible for related safety and housekeeping obligations throughout the facility.
• Layout, assemble, install and test electrical fixtures, control equipment and wiring.
• Work with and around live circuits and making hot taps when required.
• Maintain power, lights and alarms wiring systems.
• Adhere to LGCOP's attendance policy.
• Perform a variety of manual tasks in varying temperatures for extended periods of time, which may include lifting light to heavy materials, climbing, standing, squatting, bending, and working at heights when applicable.
• Willingness to assist fellow maintenance team members with non-electrical related maintenance repairs.
• Other duties as assigned.
LGCOP will provide the Electrician with an initial set of tools for the position. Specialty tools will also be provided by LGCOP.
Basic qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
• Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
• Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
• Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
• Ability to lift heavy materials up to 50 pounds at a time, climb, stand, squat, bend and work at heights with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to successfully complete all post-offer pre-employment activities.
• Ability to work on any shift when needed, weekends, holidays, or overtime if applicable.
• Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Completion of a formal Industrial Electrician Journeyman's Apprenticeship Program or an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology
• Prior experience as an Industrial Electrician with basic knowledge and understanding of machine technology, construction, operation of heavy industrial machinery, and power control devices
• Prior experience working with a variety of Programmable Logic Controls, AC/DC drive controls, and platforms.
• Prior experience with electrical industry-specific safety standards compliance
