Description

OAK MTN BRANDS, a division of PRADCO Outdoor Brands, is seeking a motivated and passionate Industrial Design Intern to join our team this Summer. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to real-world projects while refining your skills and expanding your knowledge in Industrial Design. Under the guidance of our senior leadership team and product managers, you will assist in various stages of the design process, from conceptualization to prototyping. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your creativity and design skills to help shape the future of a growing outdoor brand. You must have a unique blend of technical and aesthetic understanding and be able to work in a fast-paced environment to deliver top-notch designs. If you have a passion for creating functional and beautiful outdoor products, then this job is for you! To be successful in this role, you must be majoring in Industrial Design or a related mechanical engineering field. You should also have excellent visualization skills and the ability to work with 3D modelling software. Responsibilities

1. Conceptualization: Collaborate with the design team to generate creative concepts for new products or product enhancements. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas that align with project goals and target audience.
2. Sketching and Rendering: Translate conceptual ideas into visual representations through sketches and digital renderings. Use software to create detailed illustrations that communicate design intent effectively.
3. 3D Modeling: Assist in creating 3D models of product designs using CAD software such as SolidWorks, Rhino, or Autodesk Fusion 360. Work closely with product managers to refine and iterate on designs based on feedback and technical constraints.
4. Prototyping: Participate in the prototyping process by helping to create physical prototypes using various techniques and materials. Gain hands-on experience in model making, rapid prototyping, and 3D printing while ensuring prototypes accurately reflect design specifications.
5. Research and Analysis: Conduct research on industry trends, user needs, and competitor products to inform design decisions. Analyze user feedback and iterate on designs to improve usability, ergonomics, and overall user experience.
6. Documentation: Assist in creating design documentation, including sketches, renderings, technical drawings, and presentation materials. Organize and maintain design files and documentation for future reference and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least a Junior year level of coursework pursuing an Industrial Design degree or related engineering field.
• Proficiency in sketching, rendering, and visualization techniques.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Rhino, or Autodesk Fusion 360.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Eagerness to learn and a passion for design innovation.
• Portfolio showcasing relevant design projects and skills.
