Job description

This position has been segmented as 100% Virtual Remote meaning The work is completed 100% remote anywhere in the U.S. except Hawaii or United States Territories.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Indirect Tax processes in a variety of areas, including sales and use tax, excise tax, fuel tax, business licenses and registrations, and unclaimed property

  • Responsible for maintaining due dates, meeting deadlines, and supervising the Indirect Tax Analysts on a variety of Indirect Tax compliance filings and projects

  • Responsible for the preparation, review, filing, payment, and accounting for 900+ monthly or quarterly Indirect Tax returns and an additional 1,000+ of annual Indirect Tax returns

  • Responsible for the development and training of the Indirect Tax analyst staff

  • Conduct research and provide advice to internal and external stakeholders on a variety of Indirect Tax matters

  • Coordinate the gathering of information in response to document requests from taxing authorities and support the management of related audits

  • Identify and implement process improvements related to Indirect Tax filings

  • Responsible for integration of systems and acquisitions into tax filing process

  • Assist with information gathering and implementation of tax savings opportunities

  • Provide advice to management to resolve issues and contribute knowledge of best practices

  • Other duties as assigned by manager


Supervision:
Manages a team of at least 6 Indirect Tax Analysts

Qualifications:


Education/Training:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related analytical field required (or related experience)

  • MA/MBA preferred

  • Job relevant certifications preferred (e.g. CPA)


Related Experience/Requirements:

  • 7 years of relevant work experience required (in role or similar role)

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of sales, use, excise, and fuel tax laws

  • Strong working knowledge of accounting and tax systems and processes

  • At least 3 year of experience leading projects, process improvements, and/or people preferred

  • Advanced skills using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

The following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. In Colorado, the expected compensation for this role is between $91,100 and $121,500. In New York, the expected compensation for this role is between $107,500 and $143,300. In California, the expected compensation for this role is between $102,100 and $136,200. In Washington, the expected compensation for this role is between$102,100 and $136,200. This role is also eligible for annual incentive plan bonus.
