The Indirect Loan Processor I position is responsible for funding a high volume of indirect dealer and merchant loans. In addition to funding, the position is highly involved with dealer and merchant relationships which are maintained with professional communications via phone, email, or events.
Principal Accountabilities
Indirect Loan Processing and Dealer Relationships
- Prepare documentation and loan files for the Indirect Program which includes opening accounts for new members, processing, funding and closing loans.
- Furnish dealers with relevant information and materials related to the Indirect Program to include notification of rate changes and provision of appropriate materials and supplies.
- Assist in providing superior service to dealers by answering phone and email inquiries.
Merchant Loan Documentation
- Prepare documentation and loan packages for closing, coordinate closing and disbursement.
- Assist loan officers in preparation of merchant loan applications for the disbursement process in accordance with STCU Loan policy and procedures.
- Prepare and send loan correspondence to merchant partners.
- Assist in providing superior service to merchant partners by answering phone and email inquiries.
Departmental Support
- Provide operational support as needed in support of Lending Center member relationships and strategic goals of the department and organization.
- Input and maintain data in the Lending Center Log for tracking of departmental goals and updating statistical reports.
- Assemble loan files and reviews documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Retrieve, process and distribute mail for the department as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year experience in consumer processing/documentation and/or origination is required. Preference will be given to those candidates with who have experience with Loans PQ and CUDL platforms.
- Prior work experience that was deadline-oriented and required strong organizational and prioritization skills, as well as the ability to multi-task is required.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Previous experience in keyboarding/PC and 10-key calculator.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills required, including maintaining positive relationships and excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse work group, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret data and understand and communicate complex and diverse information.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations exercising flexibility and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to make practical and timely decisions and explain reasoning for decisions.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Strong work ethic required, including the ability to complete duties on time, consistently arrive at work on time as scheduled, and ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
Physical Abilities
- Must be able to regularly talk, hear, see and operate a computer keyboard and mouse.
- Occasionally lift, pull/push, and carry up to 10 pounds.
Work Environment
- Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting.
- Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
