About the Role
As Indirect Procurement Buyer, you will be part of a team, consisting of several experienced professionals from the Magna Group. You will mainly support the North American region and based on business needs other tasks as required.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage request for quotes (RFx) process with preferred vendors, negotiate prices and compare against long-term agreements (LTA) to ensure accuracy
- Create, modify, and approve purchase orders
- Manage vendor list including creation of new vendors and source justifications
- Coordinate storage of purchasing records
- Participate in plant cost reductions and track reported savings
- Strive for continuous improvement in quality, price, preferred status, and payment terms
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Who we are looking for
- Preferably bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent related field
- Minimum 2+ years’ of general purchasing experience or equivalent supplier/customer interface
- Knowledge of purchasing department operations, preferably in the automotive sector
- Demonstrated experience in commercial negotiations
- Sound general technical knowledge and understanding
- Proficiency in the use of IT tools (standard software), exposure to ERPs helpful
- Excellent communication skills and know-how to create long lasting relationships with suppliers and within the internal stakeholders.
Your preferred qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years’ of indirect purchasing experience
- Solid experience and knowledge within strategic/category procurement for North America
- Experience working with Category managers and/or managing specific categories like IT, Equipment, Professional Services, etc.
- Global experience within purchasing
- Experience working in a matrix organization
