Job Description
Summary/Objective:
Observe, direct, teach and facilitate the learning and behavior of each client in performing activities necessary for successful daily living.
For this role, activities are aimed at reducing the clients disability, assisting in restoring functioning and help achieve living skill-sets necessary for Independent Living. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The following functions shall be performed, if and only if, a client's treatment plan determines the functions necessary.
The ILST's role also includes identifying and accomplishing goals by providing skills based training, performing necessary paper work and phone calls, and establishing community resources and activities.
Facilitate the learning of independence promoting skills - such as:
- Safety
- Housing
- Cooking and Cleaning
- Financial Management for limited income
- Benefits Management and other Self-Care Activities
- Development of Communication Skills Including Assertiveness, Interpersonal Communication, etc.
- Community Integration
- Locate and Access Community Resources
- Act as an advocate for the Client
- Participate in Client team meetings
- Complete Company Specific Documentation
- Work with a variety of individuals including elderly, developmentally disabled and mental health
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 per hour
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- ILST: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Required)
