Multiple positions located throughout Northern Region, Region 1
The incumbent provides regional coordination for Incident Business Management operations and is responsible for this program including analysis, evaluation, policy, and training functions.

Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-05:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 in the Federal Service. Examples include experience that may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work and demonstrated the ability to: analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and communicate effectively orally and in writing.
-OR-
Successfully completed a 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree the education was obtained in an accredited college or university.
For the GS-07: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 in the Federal Service. Qualifying specialized experience included meeting one or more of the following: Assisted in preparing and executing fire related agreements consistent with incident (such as wildland fire, hurricane/flood/earthquake recovery) Business Management policies and guidelines. Gathered technical information for fire managers. Assisted in the resolution of incident payments and billings.

One full year of graduate level education (at least 18 semester hours). Graduate level education must be directly related to the position and demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work; such as: contracting, financial management, business administration, public administration, or other closely related field.

Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A). S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership, (go to this site to determine if you are eligible: http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/policy/ApplicationOfStds-04.asp).

An appropriate combination of graduate level education and specialized experience as described above.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
