We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Inbound Manager to lead our inbound logistics and distribution operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the efficiency and success of our inbound supply chain.

We are seeking a skilled and strategic Inbound Manager to lead our inbound logistics and distribution operations. As the Inbound Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient movement of goods and materials into our organization, ensuring timely deliveries, optimizing warehouse processes, and fostering strong relationships with suppliers.

Pay: $68k-78K D.O.E.

  • Logistics Leadership: Oversee and coordinate all aspects of inbound logistics, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of goods.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, collaborating to enhance performance, resolve issues, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Team Development: Lead and inspire a high-performing inbound logistics team, providing guidance, training, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve inbound logistics processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and seamless integration with overall organizational goals.
  • Data Analysis: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing data to assess performance, identify improvement areas, and drive operational enhancements.

Job Summary:

The Inbound Manager in the Galt Distribution Center is responsible for overseeing the efficient and timely receipt of products and materials into the company's distribution center. Responsibility also includes supporting our International Supply Chain team. The role involves coordinating various inbound activities, managing a team of warehouse personnel, optimizing processes, safety, facility security, and ensuring the accuracy of inventory. In support of our purchasing/sourcing team - supply chain management, logistics, and international trade, with a focus on optimizing efficiency and ensuring seamless operations within the global supply chain for building materials.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Inbound Operations: Manage and lead a team of warehouse associates engaged in receiving, inspecting, and organizing incoming building materials. Ensure the team provides excellent service to customers, follows established procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Supply Chain, Logistics, and Transportation Management:
    • Support the International Supply Chain Specialist (matrix reporting)
    • Coordinate and manage the transportation of building materials from manufacturers to distribution centers, considering cost-effectiveness, lead times, and transportation modes.
    • Collaborate with freight forwarders, carriers, and logistics partners to ensure timely delivery of products to international destinations. Manage billing and invoicing.
    • Monitor shipment schedules, track shipments, and address any delays or issues that may arise.
    • Stay up-to-date with international trade regulations, tariffs, and customs requirements to ensure smooth cross-border movements of goods.
    • Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure accurate and compliant documentation for import product.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with Inventory Control to maintain accurate inventory records. Monitor stock levels, conduct regular cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies to minimize inventory inaccuracies.
  • Receiving and Inspection: Oversee the unloading and inspection of incoming shipments. Ensure that products and materials meet quality standards and match the order specifications. Coordinate with vendors or suppliers to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Quality Control: Implement quality control processes to identify and address any damaged or defective products during the receiving process. Work closely with vendors and quality assurance teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • Team Training and Development: Train new employees on receiving procedures, safety protocols, and proper handling of building materials. Provide ongoing training to improve the skills and knowledge of the team.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously review and enhance inbound processes to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize errors. Identify opportunities for automation or technology integration to streamline operations.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with purchasing, logistics, and sales teams to ensure alignment between incoming shipments and customer orders. Communicate any potential delays or shortages to relevant stakeholders.
  • Safety Champion: Uphold a culture of safety within the warehouse environment. Enforce safety regulations, conduct regular safety meetings, and address any safety concerns promptly.
  • Vendor Relationships: Foster positive relationships with suppliers and vendors. Communicate effectively to resolve issues, expedite deliveries when necessary, and negotiate terms as appropriate.
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on inbound operations, inventory accuracy, productivity, and team performance. Provide insights to senior management to support decision-making.

Education:         

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Work Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience in warehouse management, preferably within building materials, construction, or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and supply chain processes.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse environment
  • Works well in a fast-paced, team environment.t
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows operating system, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office email. Knowledge of ASW, WMS, and other company databases and programs is preferable, but not required.
