JOB TITLE: Inbound Logistic Specialist
REPORTS TO: Senior Director, Logistics Operations
JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for container Import Distribution (relevant to Replacement and Original Equipment market, related to tires) in US market.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Track and Trace direct shipments from producers to the customers.
- Report and update ETAs for direct containers on tracking spreadsheet, inform sales team and credit department of new containers in transit to customers.
- Meet the Management Plan $ sales, unit sales and profit objectives.
- Manually delete and recreate PO’s and shipping notifications for diverted containers.
- Remove quantities in PO’s when instructed by PTNA Availability Managers and Central Logistics Planners.
- Pursue inquiries from the warehouses when containers do not appear to be in the system.
- Perform Unplanned goods entries into SAP (USA replacement only)
- Review Data, delete duplicate and correct invalid container codes listed shipping notifications and on shipping notifications.
- Report SAP documentation and SAP ETA reliabilities to Traffic Manager and producers.
- Prioritize inbound containers per month according to availability suggestions.
- Report Ocean Carrier and Warehouse performance to executive management.
- Maintain communication between Ocean Carrier Contract Manager.
- Review / recommend/ implement proffered drayage companies and proffered carriers regarding customer and 3PL warehouses.
- Approve/ reject invoice payments relevant to USA business.
- Assist Distribution Manager/ Logistics Directors with any other relevant activities.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Comprehension and usage of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Outlook)
- Transportation / Logistics experience
- Negotiating skills
- Decision Making
- Knowledge of North American Transportation Industry
- Strong people skills
- High school degree. College degree preferred, but not required.
