Arabesque Conservatory of Music is broadening its educational reach to include the culinary arts, dedicated to offering personalized, inclusive cooking lessons tailored to students with Special Needs. Our goal is to create an environment where culinary creativity, self-expression, and personal development are at the forefront. We are currently in search of passionate, innovative, and experienced In-Person and Online Cooking Instructors to join our team on a contract basis, tasked with delivering impactful cooking classes to students with diverse learning abilities.
Position Overview:
As a contract Cooking Instructor with the Arabesque Conservatory of Music, you will provide individualized culinary instruction to students with Special Needs. These sessions may occur in students' homes or through online platforms, depending on location and individual requirements. This role is pivotal in adapting to the unique culinary interests and dietary needs of each student, ensuring a supportive, safe, and engaging learning environment. Instructors are encouraged to introduce students to a wide array of cooking techniques and cuisines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized cooking lesson plans tailored to the specific needs, interests, and dietary restrictions of each student.
- Instruct students in various cooking techniques and kitchen safety, adapting teaching methods to accommodate each student’s learning style and needs.
- Foster a supportive, positive, and clean environment that promotes student engagement and enthusiasm for culinary arts.
- Assess and document student progress, adapting lesson plans as necessary to ensure continued culinary development.
- Maintain regular communication with parents, guardians, and the academic team regarding students' progress and experiences.
- Be prepared to conduct in-person lessons at students' homes and provide effective online culinary instruction.
- Stay current with culinary education practices and dietary trends suitable for students with Special Needs.
Qualifications:
- A passion for cooking and culinary education, with experience in various cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Prior experience working with Special Needs individuals is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, patience, and organizational abilities.
- Flexibility in teaching methods to cater to the diverse needs and interests of students.
- Access to reliable transportation for in-home teaching sessions and a suitable environment for conducting online lessons.
- Availability to commit to a contract position with variable hours.
