Job Description:
SK Siltron CSS has a unique opportunity at the Bay City Site in the Bay City, MI area for In-House Legal Counsel. The In-House Legal Counsel is ultimately responsible for oversight and management pertaining to legal matters, contracts, mitigating risk and ensuring compliance. This dynamic role supports all functional departments and works with executive and company leadership daily to mitigate risk, ensure compliance, and provide insight based on legal changes affecting the business. This role will also coordinate engagement with outside Legal Counsel as required.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Be the partner and legal advisor of the CSS management team with respect to all legal topics impacting the company.
  • Lead the CSS trade compliance program and continue to develop the program to support business growth and mitigate risks.
  • Draft, review and negotiate legal agreements, including nondisclosure, sales contract, development, collaboration, and licensing agreements, with, customers, suppliers, and external partners.
  • Advice and counsel the CSS technology team on all IP matters.
  • Directly interact with all functional teams to support business activities.
  • Oversee a network of outside counsel to manage technology, business transactions, corporate strategy, and labor practice related issues.
  • Interact with legal and business management teams from our stakeholders in Korea.
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor and Bar admission (or equivalent in jurisdiction) to practice law in the state of Michigan.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in private practice or as an in-house attorney
  • Knowledge and experience in the US trade compliance regulations
  • Knowledge of US and Michigan labor practice
  • Knowledge of IP
  • Strong negotiation and oral/written communication skills
  • Highest level of ethics
  • Possess sound judgement in a business environment
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
  • Ability to prioritize and appropriately manage risk in a corporate legal environment
  • Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent work ethic.
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Very good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Sensitive to culture differences; must demonstrate cross-cultural effectiveness
Desired Skills, Experience and Education:
  • Knowledge of manufacturing
  • A background or familiarity with science and engineering
  • Korean language skills
