Summary:
We’re looking for a compassionate and dedicated live-in caregiver to provide assistance and support to an adult who is capable of independent tasks but may also need guidance and support. This role involves aiding in specific areas while encouraging and promoting the individual’s independence, safety, comfort, and well-being.
Duties:
- Personal Assistance: Provide guidance and support for daily living activities that the individual may require assistance with, including meal preparation, showering, grooming, and dressing.
- Medication Management: Restock medication and ensure they are taken according to prescribed schedules. Ensure compliance with medical requirements.
- Companionship: Engage in meaningful conversations, recreational activities, and provide emotional support to promote emotional well-being.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious dinner meals, as needed, in accordance with dietary needs and preferences. Person receiving care can prepare their breakfast and lunch for work without assistance.
- Housekeeping: Encourage the person receiving care to participate in maintaining a clean and organized environment. This can include washing dishes, cleaning counters, washing clothing, and keeping items off the floor. Ensure other housekeeping items occur like weekly trash pick-up. Deep cleaning housekeeping duties will occur on a regular basis by another designated person.
- Encouraging Independence: Support the person receiving care in pursuing and enhancing their skills and abilities in areas where they are capable, promoting independence.
- Transportation: Take to medical appointments or assist with running errands when required.
- Monitoring and Reporting Health: Observe and report any changes or concerns in the individual's health condition to family members or appropriate healthcare professionals, as applicable.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of care provided, any changes in the individual's condition, and other relevant information as necessary.

· Ability to support and guide while allowing the individual to maintain independence and make decisions where possible.
· Ability to adapt to changing needs, routines, or schedules.
· Possess strong English communication skills.
· Possess strong listening skills.
· Possess caring and understanding attitude toward the individual's unique situation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
· Ability to pass a background check, reference check and drug screen.
· Possess a valid driver's license.
· Must be able to live in the home with the person receiving care.
Preferred:
· 1-year prior experience in caregiving or working with special needs individuals
Physical Requirements and Environment:
· Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach.
· Ability to live in a home where the temperature is 69-70 degrees year-round.
· Smoking is not permitted inside the home
Compensation and Benefits:
· Starting pay is $1500/month. Pay negotiable subject to experience.
· 80 hours of PTO
· Meals included if enjoying the same meals with the person receiving care.
· Private living quarters in the home. Utilities included.
The person receiving care is employed Monday-Friday from 8:30-5:30 and you are not required to remain in the home while they are at work.
