- Apply immigration and institutional background to evaluate and improve in-house and vendor processes and practices with a strong emphasis on results and simplification.
- Provide immigration counsel, guidance, and strategy on temporary and/or permanent work permits to various stakeholders including employees, business line managers, Business HR, and Talent Acquisition and Management groups.
- Provide US Visa Assessment and guidance to the business to inform hiring and employee resourcing decisions. Coordinate with stakeholders and external immigration counsel to recommend optimal solutions to immigration issues to support Chevron’s business requirements.
- Manage and respond to queries and requests for information from USCIS / DHS.
- Manage US immigration activities in Chevron's expatriate management system, Assignment Pro.
- Partner with Export Control Compliance Group to comply with deemed export control regulatory requirements. Support I-9 Process Owner with subject manager expertise on work authorization for employees on expatriate assignment.
- Data management, tracking and analysis of immigration data including visa status and overall immigration strategy.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 5 years of relevant immigration experience and familiarity with immigration processes and procedures (Immigration Law Firm, USCIS, corporate in-house immigration department).
- Experience working with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services operations strongly preferred.
- Strong competency in core professional skills, especially initiative, responsiveness, follow-through, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage and resolve complex and sensitive situations while managing confidential information.
- Strong conflict resolution skills, including the ability to negotiate and influence others.
- Strong critical /out of the box thinking, problem-solving skills, and data analysis skills. Ability to create data visualizations and communicate trends that inform business decisions.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
