About this opportunity
Align Technology is seeking an Immigration Specialist to join our team. This position will be onsite at our corporate office headquarter located in Tempe, Arizona. In this role, you will provide ongoing support to foreign national employees, Human Resources, and Talent Acquisition teams. At Align Technology, employees are our greatest strength! In this role, you will...
  • Partner with external immigration counsel to initiate and ensure all U.S. immigration cases are filed accurately and in a timely manner;
  • Regularly provide instruction and information to employees and candidates on U.S. immigration practices and procedures;
  • Maintain all posting requirements (Public Access Files, PERM Notice of Filings, etc.);
  • Manage and maintain Public Access Files and ensure compliance with all federal laws;
  • Process travel packets for visa dependent employee international travel;
  • Co-ordinate with HR to update employment eligibility information in Workday and form I-9;
  • Assist with any problems that may arise relative to a foreign national's immigration status;
  • Provide administrative support as needed for all immigration matters; and
  • Proactively stay informed of all immigration regulation updates (E.g. executive orders, travel restrictions, etc.)

In this role, you'll need ...
  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of U.S. employment-based immigration experience, preferably as an in-house specialist;
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of U.S. employment-based immigration matters, such as:
  • H-1B, L, E-3, F-1, TN, H-1B1, O-1
  • PERM, I-140 and I-485
  • U.S. Embassy and Consulate Practices
  • Outstanding customer service/business partnering skills, including appropriate use of tact, flexibility, initiative, discretion, and cultural sensitivity;
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, and coordinate and prioritize multiple activities, while maintaining a high level of customer service;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an extreme attention to detail;
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office software (E.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and
  • Heightened sense of urgency, focus on meeting assigned deadlines, and communicate case progress/status/issues to hiring managers and the Talent Acquisition team.
