JOB PURPOSE:
Perform installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks on diagnostic medical equipment specific medical devices. Inspect, test, replace and adjust malfunctioning components and parts. Keep records of system problems and issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs general equipment repairs.
2. Performs preventive maintenance.
3. Maintains files, supplies, and parts.
4. Maintains knowledge current within field.
5. Perform cost containment measures by sourcing the most cost-efficient measures to maintain diagnostic equipment.
6. Communicates with staff and customers.
7. Works on high tech laboratory or diagnostic imaging equipment.
8. Maintains regulatory documentation.

Exceptional Communication and Customer Service Skills
Ability to analyze and interpret complex information related to the malfunctions of clinical equipment as described by clinical staff in determining equipment operational condition and ability to follow complex written instructions, perform tasks and document actions taken.
Ability to perform during emergency or stressful situations.
Ability to learn equipment maintenance and repair procedures from courses, Service Engineer representatives, and training materials.
Computer and typing skills.
Perform equipment database documentation.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Associates degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronic Technology, Imaging Service Technology or a related field OR related military training. In lieu of degree, three (3) years of relevant work experience will be accepted in addition to the experience requirement.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five (5) years of experience (expert trained) performing corrective and preventive maintenance on high tech diagnostic equipment as: CT, MRI, Cath & IR labs, Nuclear Med, Mammography, Linear Accelerators.
In lieu of degree, eight (8) years of relevant experience required.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Radiology Equipment Service (CRES) is preferred.
Vendor raining preferred.
Must possess specialized training by manufacturer or third-party equipment repair in high end equipment such Diagnostic Imaging Service.
Working knowledge of, imaging technology, medical terminology, medical instrumentation, anatomy, and/or physiology service techniques.
Broad knowledge and up-to-date understanding of OSHA, NFPA, DNV, TJC, , FDA and other specific state and federal regulations and standards pertaining to equipment service and repair.
Must Have
MR - min. 5+ years; GE or Siemens machines; formally trained
CT- Min. 5+ year; Ge or Siemens machines; formally trained
Nice to Haves
ideally the candidates have experience on both modalities- MR & CT. Cleint will look at than engineer if they have only 1 of the 2 but have a strong work histroy and formally trained on the machines
