Department Specific Details:
Nurse to pt ratios are 4:1 for most SDICU patients
3:1 if pt is on titrating gtts, Q2 hr Neuro checks, CIWA greater than 15, stable trach, home vent, TAVR- post sheath removal, post-op thoracotomy, post op carotid endarterectomy, art lines, epidurals placed within 24 hours, Hipec first 24 hours, etc.
Employee must have NIHSS, BLS, ACLS, more than 2 years of nursing experience in critical care, proficiently be able to discuss vasoactive cardiac medications and the mechanism of action, interpret cardiac rhythm strips, have experience with endotool, etc.
