Instrumentation and Electrical Technician- Contract to Perm position
Job Functions and Key Responsibilities:Understanding and Troubleshooting:
Understand electrical and instrumentation equipment associated with plant processing.
Troubleshoot and repair compressor panel control wiring and associated devices.
Diagnose issues with electrical motor starter panels and motors.
Read electrical schematics and P&ID drawings.
Field Work and Maintenance:
Work in extreme weather conditions.
Maintain and service various control valves and transmitters.
Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems in processing plants and field boosters.
Handle electrical systems ranging from 12V DC to 4160V AC.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and DCS (Distributed Control Systems) troubleshooting.
Use electrical meters and diagnostic tools for system troubleshooting.
Adhere to company safety procedures, including lockout and tag out.
Voltage Testing and Inspection:
Conduct high, medium, and low voltage testing on electrical power equipment.
Inspect substation components for signs of wear, damage, or malfunction.
Collaborate with senior technicians to ensure accurate testing procedures.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 5 plus years of related work experience.
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Licensing:
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
Interpersonal Skills:
Effective communication with teams, personnel, and vendors.
Work Ethic:
Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently.
Flexibility:
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs.
Adaptability to changing climate conditions.
Comfort working in close quarters.
